Michael Szopiak
Associate Program Director, Center for STEM Education
Michael Szopiak serves as associate program director for the Center for STEM Education. In this role, Szopiak provides programmatic support across the Center, including for the Notre Dame STEM Teaching Fellows program, and assists on several research projects.
Szopiak taught high school physics and religion and coached baseball in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a member of the 21st cohort of ACE Teaching Fellows. He returned to the University of Notre Dame where he earned his Master of Theological Studies in systematic theology. His primary interests lie at the intersection of science and theology and their import for scientific and religious education.
Szopiak also serves as the program director for the International Education Research Initiative at Notre Dame.
