Biography

Erica Conley Shannon is a former high school science educator with extensive experience supporting both teachers and students in STEM education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Science in Biology Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Throughout her teaching career, Erica served students in both Detroit, Michigan, and Elkhart, Indiana. Most recently, she taught AP Biology and Dual Credit Biology at Elkhart High School and has served as an AP Biology Reader for the College Board. She has also collaborated with the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) through its STEM Institutes, providing professional learning and enrichment opportunities for educators and students.

Drawing on her classroom experience, instructional leadership, and commitment to high-quality science education, Erica now serves as the Science Content Specialist for Notre Dame Partnership with Advanced Coursework Teachers team (formerly AP-TIP), where she partners with teachers to strengthen instruction, build content knowledge, and support student success.
